Academic Planning
School counselors provide academic planning both individually and in group settings to help students prepare a plan to meet graduation requirements and make the connection to their future planning goals toward a career, trade/apprenticeship, 2 or 4 year college, tech school, or military focus after high school. Academic planning occurs annually each year when students begin the registration process for the following school year in January and February. Students are presented with information on the options detailed within our program of studies, and have opportunities to meet with their counselor to develop a personalized plan with both short and long term academic goals to best meet the student's individual needs. For students presenting a need for academic support, School Counselors collaborate as a team with teachers, administration, parents, and students to develop and implement academic plans of support to remove barriers to student success.
