Extracurriculars & Athletics Handbook

Extracurricular activities represent some of the most formative experiences in a student’s school career. Whether your child participates in athletics, fine arts, music, theater, clubs, or student leadership, these programs build character, resilience, and community — inside and outside the classroom.

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we are pleased to introduce the Extracurricular & Athletics Handbook, effective May 29, 2026. Please review it as a family — students are expected to follow all behavioral guidelines outlined in the handbook throughout the summer.

The handbook reflects our shared commitment to student success and establishes clear, consistent standards across all programs:

  • Clear and consistent expectations for all participants
  • Strong support for academic success
  • Positive communication between students, families, and staff
  • Safe, respectful environments for every student

All students planning to participate in any extracurricular activity must attend a pre-participation information session with at least one parent or guardian.  Attendance is required before participating. Students may attend a session at any building — the presentation is the same at each location.

Important: New GPA Requirement for Spring Activities

Beginning with activities whose competition or performance season starts on or after January 26, 2027 (including spring sports and the spring theater season), a minimum 2.0 GPA will be required for all grades, based on Quarter 2 grades. Fall and winter programs will continue under current GPA standards through the end of their seasons. See page 7 of the handbook for full details.

We encourage every family to review the handbook together and partner with us in supporting a positive, rewarding experience for your student. Questions? Please reach out to your building principal.
